Die besten FIFA 18-Spieler der Welt* haben alles gegeben, um sich für das nächste FIFA 18-Top-Wettkampfevent zu qualifizieren: Die Global Series-Playoffs. 128 Spieler (64 auf PlayStation®4, 64 auf Xbox One) wollen in Amsterdam den Sprung ins FIFA eWorld Cup Grand Final schaffen. Die Xbox-Playoffs finden am 28.-30. Mai statt, und am 1.-3. Juni geht es dann mit den PlayStation-Playoffs weiter.
Die Spieler haben sich auf unterschiedlichen Wegen für die Playoffs qualifiziert. Viele haben sich ihren Qualifikationsplatz bei einem der FUT-Champions-Cup-Events in Barcelona und Manchester gesichert. Andere haben die Playoffs über Lizenzierte Qualifikations-Wettbewerbe oder Offizielle Ligapartner-Events erreicht.
