The EA gamescom 2013 Press Briefing

Posted August 21st at 12:00am.

Today, EA SPORTS unveiled a number of new details for FIFA and EA SPORTS UFC at gamescom. FIFA 14 announced Legends for FIFA Ultimate Team, only on Xbox, Co-op Seasons, new leagues and teams, console carryover information and a demo date. EA SPORTS UFC showcased a very early look at gameplay.

Before gamescom, EA held a press conference to provide a glimpse at titles like EA SPORTS UFC, FIFA 14, Battlefield 4 and more.

The world’s media and fans were invited to Cologne, Germany to see the updates live on stage.

EA COO Peter Moore was on stage to kick things off.

First up for EA SPORTS was EA SPORTS UFC. Bruce Buffer got the crowd fired up. And yes, that appears to be a gold microphone.

Buffer introduced the head of EA SPORTS, Andrew Wilson, and UFC’s Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Europe, Middle East and Asia Garry Cook.

EA SPORTS UFC Creative Director Brian Hayes took to the stage to showcase the game’s pre-alpha gameplay reveal to the world. Footage showcased unprecedented Fighter Likeness, Full-Body Deformation, Real-Time Exertion and Dynamic Striking.

Later, David Rutter, FIFA Executive Producer, took to the stage to make a number of announcements, including FIFA Ultimate Team Legends only on Xbox, Co-op Season, FIFA 14 carryover details and much more.

Rutter joined German international and Bayern Munich legend Lothar Matthäus. It was revealed that Ultimate Team players on Xbox 360 and Xbox One will, for the first time, be able to play with dozens of football legends.

The FIFA 14 team also revealed the release date of the demo.

Relive the conference in its entirety.
