Even your grandmother knows that when healthy, Rob Gronkowski is the best tight end in the NFL. So, it’s not really a surprise that Gronk is also the best tight end in Madden NFL 19. With a 99 OVR rating to begin the year, not much has changed with the New England Patriots superstar since the end of last season.
There were a few whispers in the offseason that Gronkowski was contemplating retirement, and trade rumors bubbled up, but the veteran tight end is set to return to Foxboro along with his G.O.A.T. quarterback, Tom Brady, for another season of on-field dominance.
Taking a closer look at Gronk’s 99 Club ratings in Madden NFL 19, he ranks first among all tight ends in several categories. His 87 Stiff Arm, 86 Trucking, 97 Catch In Traffic, and 94 Release ratings besting all other players at his position. And he’s tied at the top with one other to-be-named tight end with a 94 Spectacular Catch rating. When your TE is out there hauling in ridiculous receptions like this one, it all makes sense.
Basically, Gronk gets off the line better than any other tight end in the game, and whether he’s single, double, or triple covered, there’s a remarkably good chance he catches any pass that comes his way. And if he’s got room to run, he has the ability to steamroll any defender in his path.
Gronk catch, Gronk run, Gronk spike . . . we all win.
Gronkowski is coming off the fourth 1,000-yard plus season of his career and while his durability remains a major concern for both the Patriots and fantasy football managers around the globe, he’s positioned to begin the Madden 19 campaign at 100 percent health.
