When it comes to defensive players in Madden, a stud linebacker can be a legitimate game changer. And when it comes to real-life NFL football, middle linebacker Luke Kuechly is indeed a game-changing player who represents the heart and soul of the Carolina Panthers defense.
At the end of last season, Kuechly was tied with Seattle Seahawks MLB Bobby Wagner as the top-rated players in Madden NFL 18 at their position, each with a 97 OVR. But as we gear up for the start of the Madden NFL 19 season, Kuechly has separated himself and has landed squarely in the exclusive 99 Club.
Despite the fact that the All-Pro linebacker is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, he enters Madden NFL 19 with a 99 rating in Awareness, Stamina, Toughness, and Play Recognition. This makes sense when you consider Kuechly has led the NFL with 818 tackles since 2012, according to the Panthers official website.
Kuechly also ranks first among all MLBs in Madden NFL 19 with a 90 Block Shedding rating, and he owns 98 Tackling and 97 Pursuit ratings. You better hold down that sprint button.
His football instincts to sniff out a play and get in on a tackle are unmatched. Kuechly led the NFL with another 125 tackles and was one of just six linebackers to snag three interceptions a season ago.
At the end of the day, there’s no linebacker in the NFL like Kuechly, and the Madden NFL 19 launch ratings reflect that notion.
