What’s up Madden fans?! After the success of Madden 16’s Championship (Congratulations Stiff!), the first year of Draft Champions, and the release of Salary Cap mode, we made some changes to Madden 17. Before we get those changes, let’s talk about Madden 17’s Championship series!
This year, Madden has 1 million dollars up for grabs in a series of highly competitive tournaments throughout the year! If you want a shot at getting into these tournaments, then Madden 17’s Ranked Draft Champions and Ranked Salary Cap modes are the only way to do it.
Tournaments aren’t the only rewards for playing in Madden’s Competitive Events—we’ve got plenty of packs, players, program items, and more (stay tuned).
Here’s what’s changed with Draft Champions and Salary Cap.
WHAT’S NEW IN DRAFT CHAMPIONS?
Ranked Draft Champions (DCR), Play A Friend, H2H, and Solo Draft modes are all back. This time we’ve got 2x as many players available at launch so expect to see a lot more players in your drafts.
DCR is the first of our highly competitive modes and the best players in this mode will be invited to online tournaments that will lead towards the Madden 17 Championship!
Each mode has been given all new rewards (Details below).
DCR has a new Leaderboard where you can see how you stack up against all of the other players in the world.
This year we also want to focus on community events. Starting September 9th, we’re going to be introducing FRIDAY NIGHT DRAFTS which will have all new Solo Drafts, EXCLUSIVE players, and richer rewards. We’ll say more later but be sure to check your in-game Announcements as we get closer.
WHAT’S NEW IN SALARY CAP?
First things, first, H2H Seasons are gone. H2H Unlimited Events has replaced H2H Seasons in Madden Ultimate Team. This will be the place to go when you want to play against another human opponent with anyone in your lineup with no restrictions. Playing in H2H Unlimited Events does put you in MUT’s Event structure but does not cost a ticket to play. The Event structure for H2H Unlimited Events does vary from Draft Champions Ranked and Salary Cap Ranked as you will have the opportunity to earn 10 wins before reaching 2 losses.
H2H Unlimited Events also comes with a new leaderboard that takes a more competitive rank approach instead of how many coins you have earned in the mode. Additionally, the leaderboard displays what tier (Rookie 1st String, Pro 2nd String, etc.) you are in based on your performance. Lastly, by utilizing our Event structure we get vastly improved matchmaking. For all of these reasons, we’re excited with the changes coming in Madden NFL 17!
