TAVON AUSTIN, ST. LOUIS RAMS HB (85 OVR – ELITE)
Ultimate Freeze gave us this wide receiver playing halfback, and he’s underrated according to TigerPride: “Austin breaks tackles and holds onto everything in the passing game. He was the scat back/third running back on my 96 OVR team.

SHANE VEREEN, NEW YORK GIANTS RB (96 OVR – ELITE)
Now we’re talking about a real Sleeper from garistotlekc: “Ware’s 68 Catch is unusable, but he is a Bronze fullback with 96 Carrying. I’ve had two fullbacks fumble recently, so I started looking for a player that could hold onto the ball.”

Ware is about 1,200 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and his Carrying compares well with Super Bowl Franco Harris at 45,500 Coins.
SHANE VEREEN, NEW YORK GIANTS RB (96 OVR – ELITE)
This guy can do it all, says shalfour: “He isn't the strongest or fastest, but he does everything well. Need a back to catch out of the backfield and run crisp routes? Vereen. BRUCE MILLER, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS FB (85 OVR – GOLD)

"Miller's a great run blocker in I-formations, he gets the short yardage, and he’s a decent receiver.”
Football Outsiders Miller can be found for about 8,000 Coins in the Auction House and he compares well with Marcel Reece, who goes for 16,500 Coins.
BRIAN ORAKPO, WASHINGTON REDSKINS ROLB (96 OVR – ELITE)
Awesomeness1925 likes this ROLB Sleeper: “95 Strength, 95 Block Shedding, 97 Power Move, and 95 Acceleration makes Orakpo the best cheap run-stopping outside linebacker. He also sacks the quarterback with ease.
"Nothing will stop Orakpo from being great in a good 3-4 scheme, or even playing at DE in a 4-3.”
Throwback Football Outsiders Orakpo is about 43,500 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and he compares well with Khalil Mack at 74,500 Coins.
LUKE KUECHLY, CAROLINA PANTHERS MLB (95 OVR – ELITE)

Muthead Ratings for Jump Ball, Range, and Physical are all more than 90.
RYAN MATHEWS, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES RB (93 OVR – ELITE)
Blackhawk4210 likes this HB Sleeper: “Ryan Mathews NFL Mover edition is a beast. He is always picking up extra yards, and gets about 100 yards on ten carries every game.

NFL Movers Mathews is about 13,500 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and he compares well with Mystery Chris Johnson at 91,500 Coins.
PERRISH COX, TENNESSEE TITANS CB (93 OVR – ELITE)

DAN MARINO, MIAMI DOLPHINS QB (96 OVR – ELITE)
An amazing budget QB from GuardsmanJake: “For Dan Marino’s price, you get a QB that’s viable for all of MUT. His throwing stats are insane for a player that costs so little.”
Marino cost more than 200,000 Coins in December, but is now available for much less due to shifts in the marketplace.

MARCEDES LEWIS, JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS TE (88 OVR – ELITE)
SkinsPS3 found a great TE Sleeper: “I needed to improve my run blocking and short passing conversions on third down. Lewis was a reasonable option with 80 Speed, 86 Strength, 80 Run Blocking and 71 Pass Blocking.
"Although he's not the fastest tight end, his 89 Awareness and 90 Catch in Traffic are perfect for making the right block or finding a soft spot in the defense to move the chains.”
Seasons Veteran Lewis is about 4,000 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and he compares well with Team of the Week Greg Olsen at 10,500 Coins.
ERIC REID, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS SS (93 OVR – ELITE)
Here’s a sleeper from MaddenHappy: “Reid is a beast! Athleticism is no question for Reid, 94 Speed and Acceleration with 96 Jump and 92 Agility allows him to cover the field quickly.
"His strong suit is his run support ability: 88 Tackle, 86 Block Shedding, 90 Pursuit, and 97 Hit Power.”
Final Edition Reid is a Sleeper at 27,000 Coins in the MUT Auction House, compared to Flashback Laron Landry for 65,000 Coins.
LUKE WILLSON, SEATTLE SEAHAWKS TE (90 OVR – ELITE)
smallthew will never get rid of this Rising Star: “Luke has been an absolute beast for me, and a saving grace on several occasions. He's my reliable guy I always come back to on third downs.”
The Elite Rising Star Edition of Luke Willson is no auction/no trade, so how can he be a Sleeper?
For the purpose of this article, I bought two copies of the Gold Rising Star 80 OVR edition, for 3,900 Coins and 5,100 Coins (9,000 total). I added these to Willson’s Rising Star set, and got a 90 OVR tight end to back up my MVP Gronk for only 9K (actually 8K, since I got 1,000 Coins for completing the Set). Rising Stars can be a cheap way to upgrade your team.
Two copies of Rising Star Willson are about 9,000 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and the 90 OVR edition compares with MVP Rob Gronkowski at 30,000 Coins.
BRANDON MARSHALL, DENVER BRONCOS OLB (86 OVR – GOLD)
Here’s a sleeper from TheBumPotato: “Brandon Marshall (not the wide receiver) has amazing stats for a cheap price. He has 94 Tackle, 90 Pursuit, and 89 Hit Power. His Muthead Ratings are solid across the board, but he's best with 88 Physical and 86 Run Stuff.
Marshall can be found for about 3,000 Coins in the Auction House and compares well with Von Miller, who goes for 6,700 Coins.
CHARLES CLAY, MIAMI DOLPHINS (NOW BUFFALO BILLS) TE (93 OVR – ELITE)
A (former) Dolphin from die-hard Pats fan danthepatsman: “I upgraded from my base edition Gronk, and have not been disappointed. What he lacks in blocking, he makes up for it with his 92 Speed, 96 Catch, 85 Juke Move and Carrying, 88 Agility, and 76 Elusiveness, which is considerably good for a tight end.
"He is my go-to guy on third downs and in his first game, he had more than 400 yards.”
NFL Movers Clay goes for about 14,700 Coins in the Auction House and compares well with MVP Gronk, who goes for 36,000 Coins
RED BRYANT, JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS LE (85 OVR – GOLD)
Here’s a favorite player of GoCatsNC: “Bryant always finds a way to blow up the line with that stellar 86 Acceleration, 96 Strength, and 93 Block Shedding. I've used him for months, and would take him over numerous 90+ left ends.”
Road to the Playoffs Bryant is a Sleeper at 2,700 Coins in the MUT Auction House, compared to Muhammad Wilkerson for 4,500 Coins.
LADARIUS GREEN, SAN DIEGO CHARGERS TE (83 OVR – GOLD)
Another Sleeper tight end from Mohn_Jadden: “Ladarius Green has elite 91 Speed, 92 Acceleration, and 90 Spectacular Catch. He's a big 6'6 target with 90 Jump that's too fast for linebackers and too big for cornerbacks.
"He's cheap enough to be on every squad, yet no one knows about him. It's easy to catch your opponent sleeping on his speed with a streak up the seam.”
Road to the Playoffs Green goes for about 750 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and he compares with Jimmy Graham at about 32,000 Coins.
ANDRE JOHNSON, HOUSTON TEXANS (NOW INDIANAPOLIS COLTS) WR (95 OVR – ELITE)
Here’s a budget wide receiver for a short passing scheme, says diseasedDogs: “Team of the Week Edition Andre Johnson has 97 Catch, 96 Release, Height of 6’3, and 96 Route Running for a great possession WR.
"I've used him for months now and he's great. He also has 79 Strength, so the ball won't get jarred out.”
Team of the Week Johnson is a Sleeper at 45,000 Coins in the MUT Auction House, compared to Football Outsiders Dez Bryant for 105,000 Coins.
VINCE WILFORK, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (NOW HOUSTON TEXANS) DT (92 OVR – ELITE)
A steal for the price from sojerboy08: “Vince Wilfork has 99 Strength, a stat that almost no interior offensive lineman can match. He’s top 5 among DTs in the MUT with 98 Power Moves and 95 Play Recognition.
"He's called the Screen Killer for his high Play Recognition, and his 92 Awareness is also top five among Elites. Wilfork's 97 Block Shedding will stuff up any run in the middle, even if he is double-teamed.”
Football Outsiders Wilfork goes for about 32,000 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and he compares with Combine Warrior Dontari Poe at about 120,000 Coins.
ANDREW HAWKINS, CLEVELAND BROWNS WR (90 OVR – ELITE)
Here’s a cheap, speedy receiver from Nate648: “Hawkins may be small, but he can speed ahead of people for the long bomb down the field. Hawkins plays better than my Final Edition Alshon Jeffery.
"Some of his amazing stats are 96 Speed, 97 Juke Move, 96 Catch in Traffic, 97 Acceleration, and 96 Agility. He can also return kicks.”
Final Edition Andrew Hawkins goes for about 7,800 coins in the MUT Auction House, and he compares well with Final Edition Alshon Jeffery, who goes for more than 40,000 coins.
RODNEY HUDSON, OAKLAND RAIDERS C (94 OVR – ELITE)
Here’s an Elite Sleeper from halld314: “Hudson is one of the best centers in MUT... period. He has great athleticism with 76 Speed and 92 Acceleration, which compares with the likes of Position Hero Jason Kelce.
"He is also a mammoth when it comes to blocking; 94 Run Block, 95 Pass Block, and 95 Impact Block.”
Hudson's NFL Movers edition goes for about 17,200 Coins in the MUT Auction House, compared to Maurkice Pouncey for 61,100 Coins.
DE'ANTHONY THOMAS, KANSAS CITY CHIEFS RB (87 OVR – ELITE)
Must-have budget player from cdogg919: “You won’t see him trucking through the other team, but he makes up for it with 96 Speed, 96 Elusiveness, and 96 Acceleration. I have used Mystery Chris Johnson and they play very similarly.
"For anyone with a Speed Run Style looking for a cheap back, DAT is your man. With those strong speed stats, Thomas can also be a threat in the return game.”
Final Edition Thomas goes for about 7,100 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and he compares to Mystery Chris Johnson, who goes for more than 100,000 Coins.
RAHIM MOORE, DENVER BRONCOS FS (86 OVR – ELITE)
DominantShredder says Moore is a premium budget baller: “Moore has 90 Zone Coverage, 80 Tackle, and 80 Catching. His 79 Awareness and 75 Man Coverage are lacking, but he plays way better than his stats.
"Moore’s 86 Hit Power will force a few fumbles, and he’ll be one of the best run stoppers on the field.”
Team of the Week Moore is a Sleeper at 3,600 Coins in the MUT Auction House, compared to Earl Thomas for 11,000 Coins.
BERNARD POLLARD, HOUSTON TEXANS SS, (93 OVR – ELITE)
A Flashback Sleeper from VizeCarbon: “Bernard Pollard is a stellar strong safety who has seen a starting position on my 94 OVR squad for quite some time.
"With 90 Zone Coverage and 90 Speed, he can cover the middle and over the top. Despite his low Catch rating, he can also intercept the ball. His above average Tackling and Hit Power compares to that of a linebacker, so he forces lots of fumbles.”
Flashback Pollard sells for about 24,400 Coins in the MUT Auction House, a Sleeper compared to Team of the Year Antoine Bethea at 50,000 Coins.
JULIUS PEPPERS, GREEN BAY PACKERS LOLB, (90 OVR – ELITE)
ILoseAgain says Peppers is a beast: “I use him as my Left DE, but he keeps up with everyone when I've thrown him into man coverage. Peppers can run with wideouts and can get interceptions with me user-controlling him!”
Peppers is a Sleeper at 21,000 Coins in the MUT Auction House, compared to Terrell Suggs for 66,000 Coins.
JONAS GRAY, NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS RB, (85 OVR – GOLD)
Power for a pittance from TeamNasty: “85 Team of the Week Jonas Gray is my favorite budget power back. He is pretty quick with 91 Speed and makes a bunch of runs of 10+.”
Muthead Ratings giveS Jonas Gray 90 Power and 81 Goal Line, both of which are solid numbers.
Team of the Week Offensive Hero Gray goes for about 4,000 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and he compares well with Frank Gore at 34,000 Coins.
C.J. ANDERSON, DENVER BRONCOS RB, (92 OVR – ELITE)
This is how you replace LeSean McCoy, says Hjreyn81: “Anderson is a sleeper beast! I got him to replace 88 OVR Shady McCoy when my Eagles traded him away, and I haven't been disappointed!
"I've tested other guys but haven't needed them with C.J. pounding the rock. He has good power up the middle, and trucks much better than his 92 Trucking would suggest. I use the Eagles playbook and pick up 5+ yards on every inside zone or trap.”
Football Outsiders Top Performers Anderson goes for about 48,000 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and he compares well with BCA LeSean McCoy at 128,000 Coins.
JACQUIES SMITH, TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS DE, (88 OVR – ELITE)
Andyoushouldfeelbad likes Smith: “I've been seeing Jacquies Smith as a backup in a lot of lineups recently. I noticed his 88 Strength and 89 Speed, and only four natural DE's have those stats (Boss Bruce Smith, PH Cameron Wake, FB Julius Peppers, and Smith).
"I'm a huge believer in a DE with the highest Strength and Speed, he will perform as long as he doesn't have a really bad stat.”
Smith is a Sleeper at 5,000 Coins in the MUT Auction House, compared to Julius Peppers for 20,000 Coins.
JARVIS LANDRY, MIAMI DOLPHINS WR, (80 OVR – GOLD)
A quality Gold sleeper from Graggmaster1999: “I think Landry is the best sleeper in MUT. He has 89 Speed and 92 Acceleration, and his 90 Catching is pretty good for an 80 OVR player.
"He also has 90 Catch In Traffic, so he can grab the ball between defenders. I usually use Landry as my slot receiver, and he has the biggest game out of my receivers.
"His 5'11, 205 pound frame is excellent for a slot receiver, and you can even use him as a starter.”
Landry sells for about 800 Coins in the MUT Auction House, a Sleeper compared to Team of the Week Allen Hurns at 1,500 Coins.
BOBBY WAGNER, SEATTLE SEAHAWKS MLB, (93 OVR – ELITE)
PiffCity21 likes Wagner: “I’ve had a Bobby Wagner in my lineup since day one of MUT15, from 83 Gold to this MVP edition. With good Speed, Jump, and Catch, Bobby is so smooth. He has everything you need when user-controlling the MLB.
"With 88 Awareness and decent coverage skills, he can be left alone as well.”
To prove his point, the forum post shares a video of Bobby Wags making a sweet pick-six.
MVP Wagner is a Sleeper at 36,900 Coins in the MUT Auction House, compared to Patrick Willis for 160,000 Coins.
TELVIN SMITH, JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS, (87 OVR – ELITE)
Smith plays better than his OVR, says Hjreyn81: “When I looked at Smith's stats, I was surprised he was only an 87 OVR. His 90 Speed is great for usering, while his 84 Zone Coverage allows him to cover well.
"Smith’s 80 Play Recognition and Awareness are never problems and he can take away the intermediate passing game with his height (6'3) and 90 Jump. He also gets to the quarterback when I blitz him.”
Football Outsiders Telvin Smith goes for about 9,000 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and he compares well with Von Miller at 20,600 Coins.
JOHNTHAN BANKS, TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS, (86 OVR – ELITE)
An amazing budget corner from MaddenxBeast: “At 6'2 with 93 Speed and solid 93 Zone Coverage, Banks is worth the price. He causes lots turnovers with 79 Catch and a 71 Hit Power, and forces more fumbles than you would think.
"I got Johnthan Banks the week he was released, and he has been my best cornerback ever since.”
Final Edition Banks sells for about 6,100 Coins in the MUT Auction House, a Sleeper compared to Base Set Richard Sherman at 218,000 Coins.
ALSHON JEFFERY, CHICAGO BEARS WR, (95 OVR – ELITE)
There are still bargains in the elite wide receiver market, says stork1018: “People are sleeping on Final Edition Alshon Jeffery. He’s just as good as Football Outsiders Dez Bryant and Chris Matthews. He's just as tall, and all of his major attributes are within two points or better.
"He also plays as a 90 OVR tight end with 70 Impact Blocking.”
Final Edition Hero Jeffery goes for about 63,800 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and he compares well with Dez Bryant at 200,000 Coins.
EDDIE LACY, GREEN BAY PACKERS HB (93 OVR – ELITE)
Get Lacy, says KevinG: “Lacy is amazing for a 93 OVR. He breaks most tackles and fights for extra yardage. He helped me win the final MUT Gauntlet game and averaged around 15 yards per carry.
"Lacy is the best power back in the game behind Bo Jackson, and his 98 Trucking is a key stat.”
BASHAUD BREELAND, WASHINGTON REDSKINS CB (91 OVR – ELITE)
BonquishaShamu likes Breeland: “Breeland's stats compare to Team of the Year Joe Haden with only two less Man and Zone Coverage (at 96 and 93, respectively).
"Breeland has the same 76 Catching, and his 90 Pursuit is better."

JOE FLACCO, BALTIMORE RAVENS QB (91 OVR – ELITE)
wonder_worm13 is fond of Flacco: “I love how this Joe Flacco plays. He's accurate with 95 Throw Accuracy Short and 92 Throw Accuracy Mid, and despite his low Throw Accuracy Deep, his 98 Throw Power makes up for it. He's also surprisingly mobile for a QB of his size (6'6, taller than many defensive linemen) with 77 Speed and 80 Acceleration.”
Football Outsiders Flacco goes for about 10,200 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and he compares well with Tom Brady at 47,000 Coins.
MICHAEL FLOYD, ARIZONA CARDINALS WR (88 OVR – ELITE)
epicfanman47 likes Michael Floyd: “He has a good combination of speed (93 SPD) and size (6'3). His 95 Spectacular Catch and 93 Catch in Traffic make sure he doesn't drop many balls. He’s also strong on run plays with his 70 Impact Blocking.”
Football Outsider Floyd is a Sleeper at 12,000 Coins in the MUT Auction House, compared to Brandon Marshall for 17,500 Coins.
ANTONIO GATES, SAN DIEGO CHARGERS TE (86 OVR – GOLD)
luisdontcare says this about Gates: “For a cheap price, you can get a high-level receiving tight end. He's fast and does not drop balls in the seam route. He's a great option if you cannot afford some of the more premier receivers. Antonio Gates needs some love.”

XAVIER RHODES, MINNESOTA VIKINGS CB (92 OVR – ELITE)

BRANDON BROWNER, NEW ENGLAND CB (86 OVR – GOLD)
Here’s an “incredibly underrated” player from Coupe_Sherm: “You see 90 Speed and 87 Acceleration and you flinch, but don’t sell him short. What he lacks in Speed, he makes up for with size at 6’4 and 221 pounds.
"This guy has made so many plays for me in goalline situations, and he'll always have a roster spot.”
Super Bowl Edition Browner is a Sleeper and terrific value at 9,000 Coins in the MUT Auction House, compared to Flashback edition Antonio Cromartie for 120,000 Coins.
JAMES LAURINAITIS, ST. LOUIS RAMS MLB, OVR 78 – GOLD
Mutheadgenosmith might be a Jets fan, but he likes this St. Louis Ram: “If you are just starting MUT, I would suggest picking up James Laurinaitis. He rarely gives up completions and he gets a good share of my team’s picks.
"He also is good at tackling and forcing fumbles.” Laurinaitis features 95 Play Recognition and 90 Pursuit.
Laurinaitis goes for about 800 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and he compares well with Brandon Spikes at 1,500 Coins.
TANK CARRADINE, SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS RE (69 OVR – SILVER)
pbnesbitt has a great MUT Sleeper thread, and here’s one named Tank: “I have used Carradine quite a bit. Not the greatest BKS or STR with both at 83, but he makes up for it with 92 Power Move, solid Tackle/Pursuit in the 80s, and good 77 Hit Power.
"He's a solid athlete with 79 Speed and 84 Acceleration.”

HUSAIN ABDULLAH, KANSAS CITY CHIEFS FS, OVR 85 – GOLD

SAM MARTIN, DETROIT LIONS P, OVR 76 – SILVER

Sam Martin is the only Silver punter with 92 Kick Power and 92 Kick Accuracy, and one of only eight with 92 or more in both categories. The other seven are all high gold cards.”
Martin is a super steal at 900 Coins in the MUT Auction House, compared to Marquette King for 3,000 Coins.
PHILIP RIVERS, SAN DIEGO CHARGERS QB, OVR 92 – ELITE
Another hidden gem from dopeSquid: “Rivers excels in all of the important stats for a QB. His Throw Accuracy numbers are 96 Short, 93 Mid, and 92 Deep. His 96 Play Action and 93 Throw Power means you can exploit an opponent’s lack of Play Recognition, like with PA All Go. He thros ahead of receivers going deep, reducing interceptions. Phillip Rivers may be one of best-performing Sleepers in MUT.”
Rivers’ Road to the Playoffs edition goes for about 23,400 Coins in the MUT Auction House, compared to Eli Manning for 102,000 Coins.
BRETT KEISEL, PITTSBURGH STEELERS RE, OVR 84 – GOLD
A special Sleeper from RaycetheRoof: “Keisel is a "hidden gem. His combination of 89 Play Recognition, 89 Strength, 90 Tackle, 88 Power Moves and 92 Block Shedding makes him the only Gold DE in the game with those stats, and one of the best value cards."

HARRISON SMITH, MINNESOTA VIKINGS FS, OVR 83 – GOLD

Smith’s Base Set edition goes for about 1,200 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and he compares well with Ultimate Feast Ha Ha Clinton-Dix at 10,700 Coins.
TONY ROMO, DALLAS COWBOYS QB (95 OVR) – ELITE
crazygamercaden calls this quarterback a beast: “Tony Romo is very good at throwing on the money. He has 75 Speed and 74 Elusiveness, which make him break tackles and not get injured. I have thrown 70-yard balls with this guy on point. I don’t know why more people don’t have this. The price is insane for the way this Item plays.”
Romo’s Week 16 Team of the Week edition goes for about 38,600 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and he compares well to Aaron Rodgers for 194,000 Coins.
REGGIE WAYNE, INDIANAPOLIS COLTS WR (93 OVR – ELITE)
bgfwf offers up a veteran Sleeper: “Reggie Wayne is a 93 non-Legend WR with 95 Awareness, 91 Route Running, 96 Catching, 93 Spectacular Catch, and 98 Catch in Traffic! Those are a lot of 90s. With that ridiculous Catch in Traffic, he is an ideal possession WR.”

CARLOS DUNLAP, CINCINNATI BENGALS LE (92 OVR – ELITE)
ReidTheSteed found a Sleeper defensive lineman: “I love this Carlos Dunlap. He is a machine rocking 97 Finesse Move. He still has decent 88 Block Shedding, so he can be useful in the run game. But he excels in pass rushing. I had a 92-rated Michael Bennett, but I never saw him really getting after it. So I sold him and picked up Dunlap. I suggest you do the same.”
Dunlap’s Week 11 Team of the Week edition goes for about 35,000 Coins in the MUT Auction House, compared to Cameron Wake for 60,200 Coins.
BEN ROETHLISBERGER - PITTSBURGH STEELERS QB (95 OVR – ELITE)

MICHAEL BENNETT - SEATTLE SEAHAWKS DE (92 OVR – ELITE)

Bennett’s Football Outsiders Conference Playoffs Top Performer edition (on the bicycle) sells for about 18,400 Coins in the MUT Auction House, a Sleeper compared to Bruce Smith at 277,000 Coins.
GARRY GILLIAM - SEATTLE SEAHAWKS TE (82 OVR – ELITE)
Here’s a Sleeper from ZFarls on Twitter. ”MUT Tip: New SB Garry Gilliam TE is a sleeper Solder/Penn Run Block TE.
"With 90 Strength and 89 Run Block, he’s a solid run-blocking tight end. In a 12 or 22 formation, how often do you throw to your #2 TE?"
Gilliam’s Super Bowl edition goes for about 3,200 Coins in the MUT Auction House, compared to Nate Solder for 6,400 Coins.
JONATHAN STEWART - CAROLINA PANTHERS RB (91 OVR – ELITE)
Kelloggs_Krave on Stewart: “He is one of the most balanced backs in MUT. He has 94 Speed, 86 Trucking and 74 Catch. He compares to backs like Marshawn Lynch, Emmitt Smith, and Ahman Green, but goes for less than half the price!”
Stewart’s Football Outsiders Wild Card edition sells for about 25,700 Coins in the MUT Auction House, a Sleeper compared to Ahman Green at 80,600 Coins.
COLIN KAEPERNICK - SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS QB (86 OVR – GOLD)
SoamX on Kaepernick: “Search on Muthead for a QB with these minimums: 87 Speed, 87 Throw Accuracy, 94 Throw Power, 85 Throw on the Run, and 82 on all three Throw Accuracy ratings. You’ll find one of the best values in MUT: Most Feared Colin Kaepernick.”
Most Feared Kaepernick goes for about 11,300 Coins in the MUT Auction House, compared to Russell Wilson for 34,900 Coins.
HA HA CLINTON-DIX - GREEN BAY PACKERS FS (86 OVR – GOLD)
Mercer3294 says he’ll keep his old Ha Ha: “Clinton-Dix got an Elite TOTW but I refuse to upgrade. He’s great to user control with 92 Speed, 94 Acceleration, and a 6'1" frame. His coverage stats are good, and he delivers the boom with 91 Hit Power.”
Ultimate Freeze Clinton-Dix goes for about 9,700 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and he compares well to Elite Ryan Clark for 25,700 Coins.
ANDRE WILLIAMS – NEW YORK GIANTS RB (83 OVR – GOLD)
Another running back from DirectoryLeaf: “If you are looking for a good Gold budget running back look no farther than TOTW Andre Williams.
"He has 80 Strength, 91 Acceleration, 95 Trucking and 88 Elusiveness. He can also make tacklers miss in the open field with 90 Juke Move and 94 Stiff Arm, and he won't fumble often with 91 Carrying.”
Williams’ Week 14 Team of the Week edition goes for about 3,200 Coins in the MUT Auction House, compared to Base Set Marshawn Lynch for 15,200 Coins.
CHRIS IVORY – NEW YORK JETS RB (82 OVR – GOLD)

Ivory’s Team of the Week edition sells for about 800 Coins in the MUT Auction House, a Sleeper compared to Jeremy Hill at 4,500 Coins.
ODELL BECKHAM JR. – NEW YORK GIANTS WR (70 OVR – SILVER)

"I have been using him since I started MUT. Get him!”
Base Set Silver Beckham goes for about 3,200 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and his physical stats compare well to Keenan Allen for 4,500 Coins.
GENO SMITH – NEW YORK JETS QB (85 OVR – GOLD)
Here’s a vote for the best cheap QB from zzcoolj21: “This guy Is the most balanced quarterback I've played with in Madden so far. He throws darts, and is like a more accurate version of Michael Vick.
"He can be a pocket passer or a scrambler depending on how you like to play. I suggest him for anyone who is starting out in MUT 15 and needs a quarterback."
Week 17 Team of the Week Geno Smith goes for about 7,700 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and he compares well to Colin Kaepernick at 10,700 Coins.
LANE JOHNSON – PHILADELPHIA EAGLES RT (84 OVR – GOLD)
Some raving from Rudytoots: “Why should Lane Johnson should be a Community Sleeper? For a lineman, he has fantastic 82 Speed, 95 Run Block, and insane 95 Impact Block!
"He can also lay a certain amount of boom if you throw an interception with 60 Hit Power."
Johnson’s Week 13 Football Outsiders edition goes for about 3,800 Coins in the MUT Auction House, compared to Gosder Cherilus for 6,300 Coins.
C.J. WILSON – OAKLAND RAIDERS DE (81 OVR – GOLD)
Here’s a “beastly run-stopping RE” from RiteOfExorcism: “If you're on a budget and you're looking for a run-stopping RE, I definitely recommend the gold C.J. Wilson.
"Wilson is tied for the second-highest Strength rating at his position (93). He also has 93 Tackle, which allows him to easily take down RBs when coming off a block.
"Combine that with a solid combo of 87 Power Moves and 88 Block Shedding and you get yourself a very reliable run-stopper.”
Wilson’s Road to the Playoffs Gold upgrade edition sells for about 1,800 Coins in the MUT Auction House, a Sleeper compared to DeMarcus Ware at 4,500 Coins.
MARQUIS GOODWIN – BUFFALO BILLS WR (83 OVR – GOLD)
This sleeper has bonus 94 Kick Return! From Muthead user jsdtx: “He's the only Gold I play, and the best Gold WR for speed routes.
"But Goodwin is really good. You can use him twice a game to burn the opposition.”
The Team of the Week edition of Goodwin sells for about 6,800 Coins in the MUT Auction House, a sleeper compared to Brandon LaFell at 14,000 Coins.
PHIL LOADHOLT – MINNESOTA VIKINGS RT (89 OVR – ELITE)
A fearsome offensive tackle? FTWDynamite has one: “Most Feared Loadholt is ridiculous. With 97 Strength and 98 Run Block, he is great for a run-heavy scheme.
"He's no slouch on passes either, with 91 Pass Block. Pass rushers will have a tough time getting around this big body at 6'8."
Most Feared Loadholt goes for about 39,000 Coins in the MUT Auction House, and he compares well to Anthony Davis at 167,000 Coins.
GEORGE BLANDA – OAKLAND RAIDERS K (96 OVR – ELITE)
Here’s a dual-threat bargain from MutExpert: “The Ultimate Freeze out-of-position George Blanda is a 96 OVR Kicker and if placed at quarterback, he is also a 92 OVR QB!"
"He’s the third best kicker with the 97 Kick Power and 91 Kick Accuracy and also a top QB with 93 Throw Power and a whopping 94 Throw Accuracy Deep!”
Blanda goes for about 22,400 Coins in the MUT Auction House, compared to Kicker Justin Tucker (103,000 Coins) and Rookie Legend QB George Blanda (25,500 Coins).
DEE MILLINER - NEW YORK JETS CB (74 OVR – GOLD)
Here’s a Gold Sleeper from hanzsomehanz: “Milliner shines with his instincts to play the man and the ball. While he has only 60 Catch, he has incredible ball-hawking abilities.
"I mainly used him in zone coverage, and he did not allow any balls to get behind him. He's tough in run support and if he touches the ball, it's almost a sure thing that he will hold on to it.”
At a cost of only about 800 Coins, Milliner is a bargain. He compares well against cornerbacks like David Amerson, who goes for 4,000 Coins.
ERIC WEEMS - CHICAGO BEARS WR (67 OVR – SILVER)
If you’re looking for a kick returner, check out what MrBoombastic789 has to say: “Eric Weems doesn't have the flashy speed, agility, acceleration or juke move that most MUT players seek in their Kick Returners, but his 95 Kick Return seems to give him some magical abilities.
"When using Weems, I'm typically able to make one quick turn and hit the edge for a good return. This guy is as slippery as it gets. Defenders struggle to tackle him and get him on the ground. “
Weems goes for 600 Coins in the MUT Auction House. That’s a good price compared to other KRs like Cordarrelle Patterson at 3,000 Coins.
CHRIS GREENWOOD - DETROIT LIONS CB (65 OVR – SILVER)
Here’s a Silver Sleeper from Muthead user Taiils: “A lot of people would be quick to judge Greenwood because of his low coverage ratings, (74 Man Coverage, 66 Zone Coverage). But he has size at 6’1, 94 Speed, and 96 Jump of a CB1.
"In fact, his Jump is in the top ten for cornerbacks. Greenwood can cover taller WRs who try to use height to their advantage, and he can also keep up with speedy WRs who try to burn him downfield.”
Greenwood sells for about 225 Coins in the MUT Auction House, a super Sleeper bargain compared to cornerbacks like Dre Kirkpatrick (1,275 Coins).
QUINTON COPLES - NEW YORK JETS OLB (84 OVR - GOLD)
Muthead user bmaxim has found a Gold ROLB Sleeper: “Just like last year, you have a guy who is 6'6 and well over 300 pounds with an 85 Speed rating and enough Tackle and Hit Power to cause unsuspecting HB's some issues. And the kicker is that he costs under 2k coins on every system.”
Here is Football Outsiders Week 2 edition Coples (at about 2,000 Coins in the Auction House) compared to Khalil Mack (11,000 Coins).
JERMON BUSHROD - CHICAGO BEARS LT (86 OVR - GOLD)
Here’s a solid Left Tackle Sleeper from MrSandman006: “I've been looking to upgrade my O-line, but haven't found an elite LT that's significantly better for the price. I pulled Bushrod out of one of my first packs, and he's awesome.
"He has 71 Speed and 92 Run Block. I love this guy.”
Football Outsiders Week 11 Bushrod goes for about 8,600 Coins, and he compares well with Joe Staley at 23,800 Coins.
STEPHEN PAEA - CHICAGO BEARS DT (85 OVR - GOLD)
Let’s follow up with another Chicago Bear from Lukeperlot12: “Team of the Week Stephen Paea is a force to be reckoned with on the defensive line. He has 97 Strength, 92 Block Shed, 95 Power Move, a solid 85 Play Recognition, and decent 71 Speed.
"What makes him great is his ability to stop the run. He can get off blocks to tackle the ball carrier, or force a fumble with his 91 Hit Power.”
At a cost of only about 9,000 Coins, Paea is a bargain. He compares well against pricey options like Sheldon Richardson, who goes for 140,000 Coins.
ASANTE SAMUEL - FREE AGENT CB (81 OVR - GOLD)
Muthead user ryuryu2949 has found a Gold CB Sleeper: “Who is the only cornerback that is tied for highest ratings in Awareness and Play Recognition? Hint: The other player with the same AWR is Elite Champ Bailey and the other PRC is 99 Richard "MutMaster" Sherman. It’s Asante Samuel.
“Besides the highest AWR (91) and PRC (94) in MUT, Samuel also has 91 ZCV (third-highest of any base Gold Player Item) and 80 CTH (tied for highest among Gold CBs, and second only to Antonio Cromartie's Flashback version).”
Samuel's approximate price of 2,000 Coins in the Auction House compares favorably to Champ Bailey's 18,400 pricetag.
TRE MASON - ST. LOUIS RAMS RB (82 OVR - GOLD)
Here’s a quick Halfback Sleeper from tygerfan17: “If you need a cheap, quick running back that runs hard, cuts on a dime, and rarely fumbles, then the Ultimate Feast Tre Mason is where you should look.
"His Speed is comparatively low at 90, but his 92 Agility and 94 Acceleration allows him to run by everyone. He's tough to bring down with his 87 Elusiveness and 84 Trucking."
Mason goes for about 1,300 Coins, and he compares with Gold DeMarco Murray at 5,900 Coins.
Pro Tip: When a new edition is released, like Mason’s Team of the Week Item, the price on the older edition drops and makes it a bargain.
LAVONTE DAVID - TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS OLB ( 87 OVR – ELITE)
Now we have a budget Elite Linebacker from cleverly-named Muthead user, iamWINNER: “Lavonte David from the Bucs is one of the best coverage LBs and costs half as much as players like Aldon Smith or Captain Vontaze Burfict. He features 98 Tackle, 96 Play Recognition, and 88 Zone Coverage.”
At a cost of only about 25,000 Coins, David is a bargain for an Elite. He compares well against pricey options like Aldon Smith, who goes for 52,700 Coins.
MATT FORTE - CHICAGO BEARS RB (87 OVR - ELITE)
Here’s a Best Elite HB recommendation from camsteelers84: “My budget Elite is 87 OVR Matt Forte. He has good Speed and Acceleration, and decent Trucking.
"He breaks most tackles and if he doesn’t, he falls forward for more yards.
"The first play I ran with him, he broke a tackle and turned a five-yard gain into a 40-yard gain.”
Forte goes for about 25,000 Coins, and his Spin Move, Juke Move, and Route Running compare well with DeMarco Murray at 39,000 Coins.
GAVIN ESCOBAR - DALLAS COWBOYS TE (84 OVR - GOLD)
Muthead user hanzsomehanz admits he’s a Cowboy fan, but loves Escobar: “He is a possession receiver playing TE. Good blocking stats, but he excels in route running and catching.
“I don't even want to upgrade to Witten's RTTP edition, because I am so pleased with Escobar. He rarely drops balls in traffic, and he has size to run through the initial tackle.
“He kills in/out routes, as well as posts and the corner route. It’s tough for the best players to keep up with him when he shoots that gap and breaks into his route!
”He plays like he has 88+ Speed and Route Running, and I have yet to see him crumble versus any type of elite match-up defender. At 6'6", he has the prototypical TE height that you look for.
Escobar goes for about 4,650 Coins in the Auction House, while teammate Jason Witten runs for more than 13,000 Coins.
MANNY LAWSON - BUFFALO BILLS OLB (78 OVR - GOLD)
Now, it’s time for Man, Myth, and Legend – Manny Lawson, from LegitRiot: “For the third year in a row, this is one of the best players to user control in the game.
“Lawson's 88 Speed, 93 Acceleration means he can catch many HBs, WRs, and QBs. The speed shows.
“Lawson is 6'5 with 86 Agility, 88 Jump, and 60 Catch. He's absolutely huge, and can scale the field like a corner using his Agility, Speed, and Acceleration.
“With 90 Finesse Move and 93 Pursuit, Lawson is an elite pass rusher. This keeps your opponent guessing.
“Lawson’s 83 Awareness and 80 Play Recognition means that he can do it all on his own.
“After reading all this you should have one question: 'Why am I not using Manny Lawson?'"
At a cost of only about 1,100 Coins, Lawson is a huge bargain.
VINCENT JACKSON - TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (86 OVR - ELITE)
ComeOnEA says this about VJax: “Everyone hates when their receivers drop passes. but Jackson catches everything thrown his way.
"At 6'5 with 87 Speed, 95 Release, and 93 Catch In Traffic, the man is a monster. Even if Jackson can't get open with his spectacular Release, he still makes tough catches thanks to his great Catch In Traffic rating."
This 40,000-Coin player is comparable to Calvin Johnson, who holds a price tag of about 300,000 Coins.
DEREK CARRIER - SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS TE (80 OVR - GOLD)
Muthead user Taiils really likes this tight end: “Carrier is like a WR with his speed (92, tied for the highest of all TEs), Acceleration (96, highest of all TEs), and Agility (93, highest for all TEs).
"Thanks to upgrades from his Silver version(Catch from 74 to 85, Catch In Traffic from 73 to 79), as well as his improved blocking (Run Block and Impact Block up 9, Strength up 14), Carrier is a legitimate threat at TE.
"Though some may be weary of his low Route Running, Carrier's speed allows him to beat safeties on passing routes, and his size allows him to match up against cornerbacks.”
Carrier goes for about 2,600 Coins, and compares well with Jace Amaro at 4,700 Coins.
RYAN SHAZIER - PITTSBURGH STEELERS MLB (69 OVR - SILVER)
Here’s the linebacker that AP1209 calls the “best Silver MLB sleeper."
"Shazier's 90 Speed, 90 Pursuit, and 97 jumping is nothing to look over. Despite relatively low Awareness, Zone Coverage, and Play Recognition, Shazier is still solid.
“He compares well to Mychal Kendricks, but for less than a quarter of the price. Shazier is the way to go.”
ANTONE SMITH - ATLANTA FALCONS RB (82 OVR - GOLD)
Let’s begin with a Halfback Sleeper from htraub22: “Somehow, this guy is only for around 2K right now. The thing that I look for most in a RB is Carrying because I don't want my back to fumble away the game.
"He's scored every 4.6 carries for me for the past two weeks. That's not just f-veyard scores, that's everything from pile dives to 96-yard scores.
"I don't utilize my running backs as pass catchers as much as others, but Antone catches everything. He is BY FAR the best gold card I have and he is also one of the cheapest. He's a huge bargain.”
Smith’s Auction House price is about 2,100 Coins. He’s a sleeper compared to BCA edition Darren Sproles, who sells for 24,500 Coins.
ALEX BOONE - SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS G (84 OVR - GOLD)
LARRY WARFORD - DETROIT LIONS G (83 OVR - GOLD)
We spied a sleeper tweet from Muthead member KRAELO this week:
These two RG's are very underrated in the game. If you can't get FBO Pouncey, these are some nice options!— KRAELO (@israeljcruz)
These two journeyman guards compare very well with Elite Tier players like Louis Vasquez of the Broncos (the cheapest Elite Right Guard we could find). Look specifically at the excellent run-blocking stats of the two Gold players.
Boone’s Auction House Price is about 4,500 Coins, Warford goes for about 2,700 Coins, and Vasquez is 41,400 Coins.
TRINDON HOLLIDAY - NEW YORK GIANTS WR (62 OVR - BRONZE)
Here's another awesome Bronze sleeper. Muthead user ExperiaTV: “He's easily the best returner I’ve ever used. I’m not exaggerating when I say that I’ve returned close to 50 percent of kicks and punts with him. It's insane.”
Holliday’s Auction House price is about 1,500 Coins. He’s a sleeper compared to popular kick returner Marquise Goodwin, who sells for 13,000 Coins.
JARED COOK - ST. LOUIS RAMS TE (82 OVR - GOLD)
A big, fast tight end sleeper from user GoldenElite8: “Cook is the fastest tight end available, and a big mismatach at 6'5. Although his catching stats are average on paper, he plays above them. He can hold blocks for a long amount of time, and you can even play him out of the backfield in some formations. I would compare him to Base Set Vernon Davis. However, his awareness is low, and he sometimes fails to pick up blitzes.”
Cook’s Auction House price is about 3,250 Coins. He’s a sleeper compared to Vernon Davis, who sells for 51,100 Coins.
ZACH METTENBERGER - TENNESSEE TITANS QB (86 OVR - GOLD)
Manatee99 says, “Team of the Week Zach Mettenberger is, hands down, the best Elite QB that you can snag for under 20k! His stats are nearly identical to Tom Brady, who is almost double his price! He has very, very good Accuracy (THA) to complement his arm strength. Mettenberger is a great choice if you're looking for a QB with a great arm and moderate speed to evade pass rushers.”
Mettenberger’s Auction House price is about 20,500 Coins. He’s a sleeper compared to Tom Brady, who sells for 34,800 Coins.
RYAN MALLETT - HOUSTON TEXANS QB (62 OVR - BRONZE)
We're digging deep to find a Bronze sleeper in Madden Ultimate Team.
Muthead user geauxWave tells how he found Mallett. “I was searching for a super-cheap, pocket-passer backup QB, and identified bronze Ryan Mallett. He's a pocket passer, but his throwing ratings are up there with the big boys. He is currently the backup QB on my 87 OVR team.”
Mallett’s Auction House price is about 600 Coins. He’s a sleeper compared to Ben Roethlisberger, who sells for 14,600 Coins.
KHALIL MACK - OAKLAND RAIDERS OLB ( 85 OVR - GOLD)
DawgPound23 makes it short and sweet: “I sold my TOTW [Team Of The Week] Von Miller because IMO, he [Mack] is better.”
This is a great Grinder’s Guide tip: If you’re lucky enough to score a valuable Elite, try to find a quality sleeper to replace him and flip that Elite Item for a big pile of Coins.
Mack’s Auction House price is about 5,900 Coins. He’s a sleeper compared to TOTW Von Miller, who sells for 182,000 Coins.
T. J. WARD - DENVER BRONCOS SS (86 OVR - ELITE)
AlexElway shares this: “I initially bought him because I am a Broncos fan, and thought he would be replaced at some point due to his size and some other attributes, [but] I have no reason to replace him at all.
"He gets me almost one interception a game, he plays Zone extremely well, and jumps routes with a quickness. He also plays the deep ball very well, and can pick off the ball, swat it, or make a hit to jar the ball loose. I leave him at SS with no worries.
"He's also great against the run. He can lay a hit and is usually in position to make a great break on the RB, and he very rarely misses a tackle when doing so. One of the best buys I’ve made as far as getting value for Coins.”
Ward’s Auction House price is about 18,000 Coins. He’s a sleeper compared to Troy Polamalu, who sells for 47,000 Coins.
