Europe Season 2 Players To Watch (Xbox One Division)

The Europe Regional Finals of the FIFA Ultimate Team Championship Series move from the French capital of Paris to the Spanish capital of Madrid this upcoming Saturday, May 6. This will be the last event of this stage of the competition and it will define the final competitors who will qualify for the Ultimate Team Championship in Berlin.

Thirty-two players from all over Europe including Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Belgium, France and the United Kingdom will battle for a chance to clinch one of the eight spots remaining for the Ultimate Team Championship in Berlin. Players will also be competing for a piece the $100,000 USD cash prize and the pride of being named one of the best FIFA players in the world.

Contrary to the PlayStation 4 division, the Xbox One contingent features several players who will be returning to action after competing previously in Season 1. Here are some you should follow throughout the tournament:

Spencer “Huge Gorilla” Ealing

Spencer “Gorilla” Ealing was a strong favourite heading into the 2017 Regional Final in Paris, but things went off-track when he was grouped with August “PSG Agger” Rosenmeier, Chevrey “Vitality_RocKy” Corentin, and Christopher “Thee Bullock” Bullock in the group rounds. His failure to make it past that stage brought up some past doubts about the seasoned competitor’s ability to make the transition from his success in FIFA 15 and FIFA 16 -- this even after he put together an amazing run of win totals in the 2016 fall Weekend League competition.

While his elimination in Paris sent shock waves throughout the competitive scene, his response was telling. Gorilla dominated during the Season 2 qualifying campaign and is coming to Madrid for the European Regional Final with a big chip on his shoulder and a lot to prove. Watch out for the Gorilla.

Erhan “Dr. Erhano” Kayman

Erhan “Dr. Erhano” Kayman has become a force to be reckoned with in the FIFA world thanks to an impressive resumé boasting a third-place finish in the 2015 ESWC, as well as five top 8 finishes in the Gfinity Play Like a Legend Championships.

A strong weekend league campaign saw the Muenster native rise to the top 10 of the PlayStation division in November 2016, earning him a spot in the Season 1 Paris Regional Final. But hitting the books didn’t help this law student in the City of Lights where he failed to move past the group stage after finishing with a record of 1 win, 1 loss, and 1 draw.

Bouncing back and after switching consoles, the STARK eSports pro once again completed a solid qualification campaign for Season 2 where he earned 117 wins and just 3 losses, garnering a place at the Season 2 Regional Finals. Dr. Erhano is ready to be back in the spotlight in Madrid where he has a second chance to continue his journey toward the 2017 FIFA Ultimate Team Championship in Berlin.

Lucas “Daxe” Cuillerier

He came into the 2017 Paris Regional Final as one of the favourites in the Xbox One division, but the competition didn’t go as expected for Lucas “Daxe” Cuillerier. Though the Paris Saint Germain local advanced out of a tough group stage round with eventual champion Tassal “Hashtag Tass” Rushan, this Beauvais, France native was eliminated in the round of 16. But that's just a blip in the road for the talented Frenchman, who is one of the most decorated players in Europe. He bounced back during Season 2 qualifying and is itching to compete at the Madrid Regional Final.

Harry “Hashtag Harry” Hesketh

Harry “Hashtag Harry” Hesketh is one of the top high-profile professionals currently on the FIFA competitive scene and he has proven himself to be a top competitor on the biggest stages. Harry made his mark at the Spencer FC Game Academy final where he beat Kieran Brown to become the first member of Hashtag United.

After topping his group in Paris, Hashtag Harry struggled in the knockout stages and was eventually eliminated at the hands of Monaco Rayziaah in the Lower Bracket of Round 2.

With renewed confidence and the experience of the Season 1 Regional Final under his belt, Hashtag Harry will try to emulate his Hashtag United teammate Tassal “Hashtag Tass” Rushan and lift the Regional Champion title in Madrid.

Tim “S04 Tim Latka” Schwartmann

He's only been a professional player since February 2016, but Tim “S04 Tim Latka” Schwartmann was one many were watching out for at the 2017 Paris Regional Finals due to his strong showing on the Xbox leaderboard in November 2016.

Things didn't go to plan in the French capital for the competitor from Gladbeck, Germany. He failed to advance out of the group stage following a tough draw that saw him placed with Harry “Hashtag Harry” Hesketh, Marcel “Marlut” Lutz, and Anthony “Guigsey” McGuigan. Not letting this result slow him down, S04 Tim Latka responded with a strong qualifying campaign for Season 2 and is looking for redemption at the Regional Final in Madrid.
