Players to Watch on PS4 - Sydney Regional Final - FIFA 17 Ultimate Team Championship Series

Posted February 6th at 10:00am.

Following up with the exciting 2017 European FIFA Ultimate Team Championship Series Regional Final in Paris, the competition flies to the southern hemisphere. Sydney, Australia provides the backdrop for the Rest of the World top competitors, and they’ll all put their skills to the test as the Regional Finals continue.

Sixteen competitors from each of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One divisions will battle it out for the chance to win $20,000 USD and a coveted ticket to the Ultimate Team Championship in Berlin. The group is a combination of both new and experienced players, which should make this the most unpredictable Regional Final in 2017. It’s certainly anybody’s game, but we’ve highlighted five PS4 competitors to watch out for on February 11.

Samer “Samer96_” Elbadar

Samer 96_ brings his rookie skills to this exciting set of matchups. Though he’s new to the scene and this is his first competitive event, Samer96_ quickly shot to the top of the rankings. He placed first in the November Top 100 FUT Champions Leaderboard, securing a spot on the big stage in his hometown.

Seif “Haddadin_95” Ziad Haddadin

Haddadin_95 is one of the more experienced players in the field for the Regionals. Haddadin_95 is studying pharmacy at the University of Jordan, but we don’t expect him to be nursing his wounds after this event. Haddadin_95 was crowned the 2015 National Champion of Jordan at the Fanta Masters.

Abdulaziz “A8drAfwz” Alshehri

A8drAfwz is a seasoned competitor—and winner. The man also known as “MrD0ne” is a FIFA World Champion, a four-time Saudi Arabia Champion, a three-time Middle East Champion, and a one-time Asia Champion. Be on the lookout for this veteran in Sydney.

Lam Kwung “janvylam1989” Hang

janvylam1989 finished third in the November Top 100 FUT Champions leaderboard, a strong finish that propelled him into Sydney for the 2017 regional finals. The Arsenal fan and Kowloon native tends to favor the 4-1-2-1-2 (2) formation when competing in FIFA Ultimate Team play, but this top-tier competitor is going to need a few tricks up his sleeve to make it to the Berlin finals.

Sony “S_O_N_Y_528” Chui

S_O_N_Y_528 finished strong in the November qualifying event, placing second on the Top 100 FUT Champions leaderboard, while leaning heavily towards a lineup featuring Real Madrid players – he’s a big fan.  As a die-hard Real Madrid fan, he tends to show that loyalty through his lineup. His combination of skills and roster construction could prove victorious for this strong competitor.
