Players to Watch on PS4 -  Miami Regional Final - FIFA 17 Ultimate Team Championship Series

Posted February 14th at 10:00am.

The top players of the Americas region are battling in sunny Miami, Florida for the final trophy remaining to be lifted at the Season 1 Regional Finals of the FIFA Ultimate Team Championship Series. There’s also $20,000 USD on the line, and the chance to punch their ticket to the Ultimate Team Championship in Berlin, where the other regional qualified players, including the reigning champions, are waiting. While the diverse field of competitors in both divisions features an array of amazing contenders, the below 5 in the PlayStation 4 division aren’t to be missed – our bet is the champion is on this list.

Matheus "modestiaaparte541" Mazuco

Mazuco is one of the more experienced players taking the stage in Miami. Mazuco has been participating in FIFA competitive events in his home state of Rio Grande do Sul since 2012, successfully combining his love for FIFA’s high competition with his current studies to become a judge or police commissioner. Will his legal leanings combined with his previous competitive experience prove valuable enough to move him to the FIFA Ultimate Team Championship in Berlin? Or will he be overruled?

Christian "xChristianx96x" Loch

xChristianx96x is a very tenacious competitor, a trait that helped him battle his way through the tough November qualifying matches, and which should serve him well during the Miami Regional Finals. Where did he develop this tenaciousness? He emigrated in ninth grade to the United States from native Idar-Oberstein, Germany, had to learn a new language, make new friends, and become acclimated to a new culture. xChristianx96x succeeded at every step, and now is completing university studies – and hoping to score a ticket to Berlin.

Christopher “didychrislito” Holly

didychrislito’s online form has been outstanding. Since the start of the Weekend League back in October, didychrislito has consistently placed among the top players of the Americas region each and every month, including a stunning second place in the November qualifying campaign. didychrislito is making his live competitive debut in Miami, but his solid online performances over the last few months make him one of the favourites to win the competition.

John “xbLeU” Garcia

The name xbLeu was propelled into everyone's radar when he classified for the Miami Regional Final as the best player in the November Weekend League with a record of 153 wins and seven losses. That impressive performance secured xbLeu’s spot in Miami, and proved to the world that he has what it takes to be the best in his region.

John “JKO1707” Oliveira

JKO1707 Oliveira has had a movie-style history on the actual football pitch, overcoming a serious ankle injury that seemed to doom him, defying all the odds, making a remarkable recovery, and helping his team win the most important game of the season. But JKO1707’s now facing a different kind of challenge, one that takes place on the FIFA pitch against the best players at the Miami Regional Final. Can his past ability to prevail when the odds are stacked against him translate to a surprise win on February 19? It’s not the movies!
