EA SPORTS ONLINE PASS

EA SPORTS™ expands your quest for glory by fully immersing you in the entire sports experience. Activating your Online Pass gives you full access to online features and multiplayer modes* like Online Team Play and Live Tournaments.

See the instructions and a tutorial video below on how to access Online Pass. Online Pass is available for EA SPORTS games on the Playstation® 3 and Xbox 360.

*Xbox LIVE Gold account also required to access online features.

ACTIVATE YOUR ONLINE PASS

  1. Start your EA SPORTS™ game, and select ENABLE ONLINE PASS from the Menu.
  2. Then select REDEEM CODE FOR ONLINE ACCESS.
  3. At the code Redemption screen, enter the single-use code located on the back of the game´s insert.*
  4. Once the code is entered, you will have access to your title’s online features and bonus content.

*EA Account required for Online Pass activation. You can create an EA Account in-game or at EASPORTS.com/register.

PURCHASE YOUR ONLINE PASS

  1. Start your EA SPORTS™ game, and select ENABLE ONLINE PASS from the Menu.
  2. Then select PURCHASE ONLINE ACCESS from the Code Redemption screen.
  3. You will then be given access to your console’s store where you can make your purchase.*
  4. Once the purchase is complete, you will have access to your title’s online features and bonus content.

*If you don´t have an Online Pass access code or it has already been redeemed, you can purchase a new one for $10 on Sony PlayStation® 3 and 800 Microsoft points on Xbox 360.

BEGIN YOUR FREE 2-DAY TRIAL

  1. Start your EA SPORTS™ game, and select ENABLE ONLINE PASS from the Menu.
  2. Then select START TRIAL.
  3. Once you accept, you have 2 days to try out your title’s online features and bonus content.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do some EA SPORTS titles still have Online Pass active?

The elimination of Online Pass for Sports titles is underway. These are rolling updates across all titles/platforms that are taking effect over the next several weeks

What was the EA Online Pass?

Online Pass was a unique, one-time-use code included in every new EA title that allowed EA players to gain access to the online features of their game. If a player bought a game used, the previous owner had most likely already used the code that was included, and consequently; the player would have had to purchase a new Online Pass.

Do I still need an Online Pass to play multiplayer games online?

For all of our new EA games, Online Pass will no longer be needed or included.

For previously-released EA games that required an Online Pass, we are in the process of eliminating it from those games as well. For some games, the prompt to enter an Online Pass code will no longer appear; for others, you will still need to download and install an Online Pass, but they will be available free of charge from your console’s marketplace.

When will specific games have their Online Pass turned off?

We plan on starting with already-released EA SPORTS games. Over the next several weeks, other EA games will either have their Online Pass requirement "turned off," or will have the cost of Online Passes set to "free" in the PlayStation Store and Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

Please note that our advisors will not be able to provide you an Online Pass code before that game's pass requirements are disabled. We appreciate your patience.

Why did we decide to do this?

We listened to the feedback from players, and decided to do away with Online Pass moving forward. We hope that eliminating Online Pass will allow more people to play and enjoy EA games for a long time to come.
