This week’s NHL 13: American Hockey League Sim of the Week takes us to the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire. Tonight at 7:00pm ET, the Springfield Falcons battle the Manchester Monarchs as they fight for 2^nd place in the Eastern Conference.

Despite the score being relatively close, it was all Springfield Falcons in this one as they demonstrated why they’re one of the top teams in the AHL. The Falcons used two goals from Ryan Johansen to set the tone for the game and never looked back. Monarchs’ RW Linden Vey pulled one back late in the 2^nd period, but the Falcons replied with a tally from John Moore in the 3^rd to seal the game.

Ryan Johansen, the 4^th overall pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, takes the 1^st star with his 2 goal, +2-rating performance. John Moore takes 2^nd star with an impressive 3-pt night. Stalwart goaltender Curtis McElhinney continues his impressive season for the Falcons, stopping 28 of 29 shots for a .964 SV%, and good enough for the 3^rd star.
