Giroux Faces Malkin, Tavares Meets Rinne in the Semifinals!

  The semifinals matchups for the EA SPORTS NHL®13 Cover Vote, sponsored by BlackBerry®, will be Philadelphia Flyers forward Claude Giroux versus Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin and New York Islanders forward John Tavares against Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne.  The winner of the cover vote campaign will be unveiled as the EA SPORTS NHL® 13 Cover Athlete at the 2012 NHL Awards™ on June 20 at the Wynn Las Vegas (7pm ET on NBC Sports Network in the U.S. and CBC in Canada).

NHL 13 Developer Profile

For Gameplay, I handle any of the core gameplay experiences, so that mostly means the twitch game that is played on ice.  So that includes anything from offense to defense and goalies, both from a control and AI standpoint.  Although I am not responsible for setting player attributes in the database, I work with our software engineers to look at how those attributes effect Gameplay and what causes our players to make the decisions they make on ice so that we get a balanced and realistic experience.

NHL 13 Announcement

While the rest of the hockey loving world has had its attention on the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, the team here at EA SPORTS Canada in Burnaby has been focusing on trying to bring more of the excitement of the game that we all love from the rink to your home (while sneaking in some moments to watch some great playoff hockey).
