Chicago Fire Host North American Launch of EA SPORTS' FIFA SOCCER 10 at Best Buy Hancock Center, Monday, Oct. 19th

Chicago Fire Soccer and Best Buy are hosting the North American launch of the world’s most popular sports video game, EA SPORTS FIFA Soccer 10, at the Best Buy Hancock Center store in Chicago, on Monday, Oct. 19th at 4:00 p.m.  The Fire’s designated player and Mexican International soccer star, Cuauhtémoc Blanco, who is featured on the cover of FIFA Soccer 10, will be on hand at the red carpet event to participate in an in-store tournament and sign autographs for fans.

FIFA Soccer fans are encouraged to attend the event to get their first look at the next chapter in the internationally acclaimed video game franchise and participate in the autograph session with Cuauhtémoc Blanco. The event is open to the public.

Over 1.7 million copies of the popular video game were sold in the first week of retail availability in Europe, making FIFA Soccer 10 EA SPORTS’ biggest European launch and the fastest selling sports video game ever in week one.  FIFA Soccer 10 will be available in retail stores throughout the United States beginning Tuesday, Oct. 20, but 32 lucky fans will have the opportunity to be the first to play the new video game on Monday during an in-store Xbox 360 tournament during the launch event at Best Buy.

The Preliminary and Quarterfinal round of the tournament will be held during the FIFA Soccer 10 launch on Oct. 19th, while the Semifinal and Final Rounds will be held on Oct. 22nd at TOYOTA PARK before the Fire’s final regular season match against Chivas USA.The Tournament Champion will win a 42-inch Panasonic 1080P Viera HDTV courtesy of Best Buy and Panasonic, and other exciting prizes from Chicago Fire Soccer, EA SPORTS and Xbox.  Fans can register by emailing their name, address, city, state, zip code, daytime telephone number, date of birth and e-mail address to tournament@chicago-fire.com.**
