Blitz Cover Athlete to be Determined by Fans

New York, NY, December 1, 2011 – While chasing their dreams of a Super Bowl championship, Pro Bowlers Roddy White, Ray Rice and Patrick Willis will vie for another honor – a spot on the first-ever digital cover from EA SPORTS.  The All-Pro appearing on the NFL Blitz digital cover will be determined by fans, who can cast their ballot at VGA.spike.com beginning at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PT on Saturday, December 10 during the 2011 Spike “Video Game Awards” (#VGA).

NFL Blitz Gameplay

Gameplay is the heart of NFL Blitz. So when we started putting the gameplay together, we knew we had to get it right. It took a lot of code, a lot of play time, and maybe a few curses, but the end result is true to the old series while bringing a new feel to the game. Blitz Animations

Flying through the air, crashing to the ground, diving, spinning—animations 'make it happen.'  Hi this is Glenn Royer, lead animator for NFL Blitz.  If you've played Madden NFL or NCAA football but are new to Blitz, you'll notice instantly that the action moves very fast, and the players have a penchant for becoming airborne.  Blitz animations are fast, powerful, and sometimes crazy.  Today it'll be my pleasure to bring you Blitz's "greatest hits".

Ray Rice is the NFL Blitz Digital Cover Athlete

On Saturday night during the 2011 Spike “Video Game Awards”, fans exercised their right to vote for the first-ever EA SPORTS digital cover athlete, choosing Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice for the NFL Blitz cover over fellow Pro Bowlers Roddy White and Patrick Willis.
