Two new ways to ride with free SSX update!

For the past few months the EA SPORTS SSX team has been working on something special, an update to the game that adds two complete new game modes along with some much requested fixes.  Using feedback from fans like you the development team focused in on making SSX even better.

The first addition is 3-2-1-Go! Events.  This brings true synchronous online multiplayer to SSX for the first time, allowing up to five riders to participate in either a Trick or Race heat.  The rules for 3-2-1-Go! Race Events are simple - the first rider to cross the finish line wins. 3-2-1-Go! Trick Events introduce a countdown timer for the entire run, so the winner is determined by who can post the highest score and cross the finish line before the clock hits zero.

Next up is Freeride, a mode requested by players who wanted to enjoy a more leisurely run down the slope without having to worry about hitting a big Trick score or posting a fast Race time.  Freeride is a single player experience that allows you to endlessly explore every inch of the massive mountains of SSX at your own pace and with your own style. There are no rules, no ghosts, no clock, no score and no other riders. In Freeride, it is just you, the mountain and your music.

SSX Creative Director Todd Batty has been teasing hints about the update on his Twitter account for the past few weeks.  Excited to finally be able to talk about the update to SSX he said, “We love the SSX community and are always listening to them and working hard to do whatever we can to make their SSX experience better. We couldn't be happier and more proud to be giving them a new way to compete online directly against their friends with 3-2-1-Go! events, and a way to just chill out and explore the massive world of SSX on their own with freeride through a free update. Thanks to all our fans for all your support, we hope you love it!"

Both new game modes, along with the rest of the SSX update, are available now for free via the Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network.
