Madden NFL 13 Crashes the Jaguars Training Camp

One week before the launch of Madden NFL 13 we traveled to the Jacksonville Jaguars training camp to let one of the brightest rookies in the league, Justin Blackmon, get his hands on the game.

The Jaguars finished their 2011-12 campaign with a record of  5-11 in the AFC South.  But have looked good in both preseason games this year with wins against the defending Super Bowl Champion New York Giants and the New Orleans Saints.

EverBank Field is the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars. The current stadium located on the St Johns River, opened in 1995 on the site of the old Gator Bowl Stadium, and can reach a capacity of 73,000 fan every NFL Sunday.

Before Blackmon got his hands on the sticks he was showing off his route running skills in practice.

Currently the Jaguars have 90+ guys at training camp.  They have until August 31st to get down to the final 53 man roster.

The Jaguars locker room is a gorgeous brand new $4 million facility with two 80” flat panel TVs. Those came in handy when they players got ready to play Madden.

To say the players were excited to see Madden NFL 13 set up and ready to play after their final practice of training camp would be an understatement.

The first thing they did was spend 10 minutes checking out our player ratings. Watch this video to see how the players react to their ratings in Madden NFL 13.

After a few minutes looking through ratings the game was on. Justin Blackmon was repping the offense in a battle against Cornerback Aaron Ross who was holding it down for the D.

Blackmon chose the home team Jags, and Ross was playing with the 49ers.

Justin did not have too many big plays but he celebrated this big sack that dropped Ross back 10 yards.

To find out who won you’re going to have to wait until Thursday, Aug 23 when we post a video to the Madden Facebook page here.

Before we took off Justin Blackmon was nice enough to sign some stuff for the EA SPORTS Crew that was in attendance.
