NHL 13 Fantasy Rankings - Goalies
EA SPORTS is proud to present our 2013 Top Five NHL Fantasy Rankings by Position. If you’re looking to get the jump on your fantasy draft and manage your team all the way to the top spot, this guide is for you.
Here’s a look at the Top Five Goalies:
1. Henrik Lundqvist (NYR)
This Vezina Trophy winner isn’t called the ‘King of New York’ for nothing. With a sparkling 0.929 SV% last season, 8 shutouts and nearly 40 wins, Lundqvist is likely to be the #1 goalie picked in every fantasy league…if you can put your team’s allegiances aside.
2. Pekka Rinne (NSH)
The Predators will be missing one of their defensive stalwarts in Ryan Suterm who has moved to the Wild. However, Rinne is solid and still playing behind one of the best defenders in the game, Shea Weber. Look for Pekka to continue his stellar performance and rack up the wins. He totaled 43 last season.
3. Jonathan Quick (LAK)
Lundqvist may have the Vezina, but Quick has a Stanley Cup to his name. If the Kings can regain their chemistry early, look for Quick to pile up the wins and be one of the best puck stoppers in the league.
4. Marc-Andre Fleury (PIT)
Every goalie has an off-year and Fleury was no exception. After a decent regular season, Fleury was abysmal in the playoffs. However, look for the talented goalkeeper to be reinvigorated by a dangerous Penguins team. They will spend so much time in the opposing team’s zone, he may not be as busy as most goalies.
5. Cory Schneider (VAN)
Although the Schneider-Luongo situation is yet to be resolved, expect Schneider to carry the brunt of the load until a deal can be made. He’s proven over the past few seasons that he’s a solid goaltender and is well worth the #5 spot on this list.
