Every golfer has his or her favorite holes on their favorite courses. There's just something about those short par-fives that scream "easy birdie", or those 150-yard wide-green par threes that let you fire at the pin for a chance at a hole-in-one. Or maybe your favorite has is a tougher hole with a more picturesque flavor -- like, say, the seventh at Pebble Beach Golf Links®, which juts right out into the ocean.Whatever the case, it's always fun to play that dream hole. Wouldn't it be great if you could string all your favorite holes together on one course? Well, in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR® 2005, you can do just that.
"The user?s creation of their own Dream 18 is one of the key components of their drive to become a legend," said the game's assistant producer, Steve Arnold. "All the legends of golf (Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Ben Hogan, and Seve Ballesteros) have their favorite 18 holes that they would take from existing courses and put together to create their ideal course. In the same vein, users have the opportunity to amass their favorite holes to create their own Dream 18."
What's more, there are now more courses in the game from which to choose your Dream 18.
There are 10 brand new courses included: Coeur d'Alene (Idaho), Colonial Country Club (Texas), Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course (Lake Tahoe), Fancourt Golf Club Estate (Scotland), Harbour Town Golf Links (South Carolina), Sherwood Country Club (Los Angeles), Troon North - Monument Course (Arizona), and Turnberry Elisa (Scotland). Meanwhile, two new fantasy courses have also been added.
"The new fantasy courses are Paradise Cove and Greek Isles. Paradise Cove is a course in the Caribbean, so imagine lots of sand, water, palm trees, and island hopping," Arnold says. "The Greek Isles course is full of images, statues, and ruins reminiscent of ancient Greek times, but there are current twists to the course as well. Both are very cool courses to play."
New courses and dream holes -- it's a combination that can result in some of the most amazing custom courses ever assembled. The only limit to putting together your favorite layout is your own imagination -- Tiger Woods PGA TOUR® 2005 will allow you to take care of all the rest!
