The popularity of the FIFA Interactive World Cup continues to grow. The Guinness Book of World Records has recognized it as the largest online gaming tournament in the world, breaking its own record set last year. Since 2010, the tournament has continually enticed FIFA gamers to participate, with 2.5 million players signing up for the tournament in 2013.
The FIWC 14 Grand Finale will take place in Rio de Janeiro, and will mark the first time the competition is played in the same host country as the FIFA World Cup. The winner will earn $20,000 USD and an invitation to the FIFA Ballon d’Or ceremony in Zurich, Switzerland. They will also get to meet the world’s biggest football stars and hold the title of being the official FIFA World Champion.
