Australian National Team and MLS star Tim Cahill will grace the cover of FIFA 14 in Australia and New Zealand when the game hits store shelves this September. Wearing his New York Red Bulls kit, Cahill will share the cover with FIFA 14 global athlete Lionel Messi of FC Barcelona.
This season, Cahill has scored six goals in the MLS as the Red Bulls currently sit atop the tightly-contested Eastern Conference. As a member of Australia’s National Team, Cahill notched three goals throughout qualifying for Australia’s third consecutive FIFA World Cup™, which will be held in Brazil next summer.
“The FIFA franchise is such an ingrained part of in football culture for so many millions of fans worldwide,” says Cahill. “I’m thrilled to be working with the EA SPORTS team again for the launch of FIFA 14.”
In addition to sharing the cover, Cahill will also serve as a FIFA 14 Ambassador. Cahill joins the ever growing list of cover athletes making an appearance on FIFA 14. In addition to Messi, Gareth Bale, Javier “Chicharito” Hernández, and Stephen El Shaarawy will be featured on the cover in different countries around the world.
