Few sports are more quantifiably measurable than golf: you hit the ball into the hole with the fewest number of shots and you win. Sounds easy, but ask millions of hackers and they?ll attest to how tantalizing -- and frustrating -- the sport can be. That's why EA SPORTS teamed up with Student Sports to honor ten high school golfing standouts who, more often than not, make the sport look easier than it is. The 2004 EA SPORTS High School All-American Golf Team members were selected according to their skills on the course, consistent performance on the links and recommendations by amateur golf experts. Following is a list of the ten players and their bios:

Jon Curran - Junior, Hopkinton H.S., Hopkinton MA
Curran was named the ?Best Jr. Golfer? in Massachusetts two years in a row (2002 and 2003) and this season, as a junior, helped lead his high school team to the Div. 2 State Championship. The East Coast athlete was awarded the Tri-Valley MVP for three years starting as a freshman. This year, he won the Tri-Valley tournament for the second time shooting a 71. He also holds the course record at Framingham Country Club with a round of 62. Academically, he was named to the Boston Globe All-Scholastic Team in 2003. Major colleges such as Vanderbilt and Arizona are already starting to notice the underclassman.

Rob Grube - Senior, The Stevenson School
(Hometown: Hinsdale, IL)
An Illinois native, Grube plays golf for The Stevenson School located in Pebble Beach, Calif. The graduating senior has been on the honor roll for four years and has received the Stevenson School?s History Prize and President?s Award. In the 2003-2004 school year, the student-athlete was elected Vice-President of the senior class and was named head prefect for all residential students. He was the captain of the Stevenson Golf Team and in 2003 and 2004 was named the California Central Coast League MVP. In 2003 Grube was the California State NoCal Champion and was also honored as the San Jose Mercury News Student Athlete of the Year and received the Stevenson School Best Athlete Award. Nationally, he has been recognized as an All-American by Rolex and FCWT. This year, Grube finished first out of 102 players at the prestigious AJGA Thunderbird International Junior Tournament held over Memorial Day weekend. He is following the lead of his parents, John and Ann, and sister, Katie, in attending Stanford University.

Brian Harman - Junior, Savannah Christian
Savannah, GA
Harman has been ranked the No. 1 Junior in the Golfweek/Titleist Rankings as well as the Junior Scoreboard Ranking. In 2004 Harman was the low medallist in the Region 3A state high school tournament with a round of 64. His long list of accomplishments is highlighted by a sponsor?s exemption to play in the MCI Heritage PGA event in April 2004 and an invite to the Buick Championship PGA event this August. Harman won the Georgia State Junior Boys Championship for the second year in a row and was named the Georgia State Boy Player of the Year in 2002 and 2003. Also, in the Peach State, he was named the GSGA Overall Player of the Year in 2003. Nationally, Harman has won the Chrysler AJGA Boys Invitational and the AJGA Thunderbird International Junior (both last year). In 2002, at the age of 15, he made it to the quarterfinals of the United State Junior. Off the links, Harman also shoots for excellence, maintaining a 4.0 GPA and looks forward to his senior season at Savannah Christian School in Savannah, Georgia.

Daniel Im - Senior, La Mirada High, La Mirada CA
Im has ranked 10th among U.S. junior boys in the GolfWeek/Titleist rankings and as high as fourth in the Class of 2004. He is a two-time 1st team AJGA All-American and last year recorded five Top 10 finishes on the AJGA schedule. GolfDigest honored him as one of its Players of the Year. Headed to UCLA, Im was a member of the 2003 Canon Cup West team and was honored as the L.A. Times 2003 Player of the Year. The Southern California native had a 3.5 GPA and led La Mirada High to three straight CIF playoff berths. He says of his sport, ?For me golf is the most important thing of my life because I really enjoy practicing and competing.?

Patton Kizzire - Senior, Northridge H.S. Tuscaloosa, AL
Kizzire was a semi-finalist at the United States Junior Amateur and over the past year won two America Junior Golf Association Tournaments?the AJGA Robert Trent Jones Jr. Classic and the AJGA Taylormade-Adidas Golf Tournament. In 2004, the 6-foot-5, 185 pound athlete was the Alabama Golf Association State Four-ball Champion and last year he dominated Alabama golf from the high school level to the state level as he was named the Alabama State High School Champion, the Alabama Golf Association Junior Champion and the Alabama Golf Association Men?s Matchplay Champion. When not playing golf, the Auburn-bound athlete enjoys hunting, fishing, tennis and ping-pong.

Glenn Northcutt - Senior, Houston Academy
Dothan, GA
Like many on the EA SPORTS All-American Golf Team, Northcutt excels in the classroom as well as on the golf course. He carries a 3.7 GPA and is a member of the National Honors Society. With a career low scoring average of 61, the Georgia teenager helped his high school team win four straight state championship teams. Nationally, Northcutt made it to the second round of match play at the 2004 Polo Junior Golf Classic. Also, he placed second at this year?s TaylorMade ? Adidas Golf Junior at Chateau Elan in Atlanta, one shot behind fellow EA SPORTS All-America Team member Patton Kizzire. In 2003 Glenn won the Press Thornton Future Masters and played in several AJGA events such as the I.R.I. Golf Group Highland Creek Junior which he won. Heavily recruited, he is still undecided as to his college choice.

Will Osborne - Senior, Wichita Falls H.S.
Wichita Falls, TX
Osborne was the captain of his team for the past three years and this year took the ?trifecta,? winning District, Regional and State Class 4A State Golf Championships. As a senior, the standout from the Lone Star State won seven of the 11 high school tournaments he played in with a scoring average of 69.4. Along with all of his individual successes, Osborne was able to lead his team to the state golf tournament for the first time in 50 years. This summer, the athlete will compete in the Junior World Golf Cup in Japan. Wichita Falls head coach Dan McDonald said, ?Will?s work ethic has been unmatched and his strong desire to excel has been his trademark to success.? Next year, the Texan will tee it up for the University of Arkansas.

Garrett Sapp - Senior, Gahr H.S., Cerritos CA
On a national level, Sapp won the American Junior Golf Association?s tournament at Marshallia Ranch in Vandenberg, Calif. Garrett played in the AJGA Mission Hills event and finished third. The Californian led Gahr to the state finals in 2004 after finishing first himself in four SCPGA Golf Tournaments: Westfield PGA Section, Yorba Linda, Gail Stockton, and Toyota Tour Cup. Representing Gahr High, he won the CIF Southern Section Individual Finals last year with a six under par 66. Next year, he?ll stay in Southern California and play for the Anteaters of U.C. Irvine.

Webb Simpson - Senior, Broughton High, Raleigh NC
As a senior, Simpson won the North Carolina State Individual Title and was ranked as high as No. 2 in the Golfweek/Titleist Junior Rankings. For the past three years (2001?2003) he has been named to the first team AJGA All-America Team. In 2004, Simpson won the Azalea Invitational Men?s Amateur and finished third in the MCI Junior Heritage. Also, this year, he had runner-up finishes at the Scott Robertson Memorial and the Thunderbird International Junior Invitational. Not only does the North Carolina standout play in AJGA events, he also sits on the Board of Directors as a player representative. Simpson received the Arnold Palmer Scholarship to play golf at Wake Forest University next year.

Jarred Texter - Senior, Penn Manor High
Lancaster, PA
Texter qualified four times for the USGA Junior Amateur with a career low round of 62. As a sophomore, he won the North-South Junior at Pinehurst with rounds of 69-72-70. On a national level, he was selected to play in the AJGA Canon Cup for the East Team after being named AJGA Second Team All-American last year. Also in 2003, Jarred finished seventh in the Junior Rankings and next season the Keystone State star will tee it up for the Rebels of UNLV on a golf scholarship.
