Boasting the deepest, most explosive talent pool of any MMA organization on the planet, the UFC has built its reputation on showcasing the best and brightest athletes that mixed martial arts has to offer. This spring, EA SPORTS UFC will do the same.

Over the next few months we’ll reveal the roster of EA SPORTS UFC, along with screenshots showcasing their next-gen likeness for the first time.

Dominick Cruz

The UFC’s first-ever Bantamweight Champion, Dominick Cruz represents one of the division’s most talented fighters, logging only a single loss in his professional career to rival Urijah Faber. An elusive fighter that deploys a mixture of boxing and wrestling inside the Octagon, Cruz also owned the WEC Bantamweight belt prior to becoming a champion in the UFC. Despite never losing his title during competition, Cruz has been plagued by a series of injuries that have kept him sidelined since 2011, eventually causing him to vacate his UFC title. Currently working his way back to 100%, Cruz will be looking to make his return to MMA in the near future.

Josh Thomson

A true MMA veteran, Josh “The Punk” Thomson’s professional fighting career dates all the way back to 2001. Boasting a well-rounded skillset and strong ground game, Thomson has earned finishes in 14 of his 20 career victories, with eight coming via submission and another six by way of knockout. Making his original Octagon debut back in 2003 at UFC 44, Thomson went on to spend time as the Strikeforce Lightweight Champion before making his return to the UFC in April of 2013 with a Knockout of the Night performance over Nate Diaz.

Ronaldo Souza

Arriving in the UFC after an extended run in Strikeforce, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza has gone three-for-three since stepping into the Octagon, with wins over Chris Camozzi, Yushin Okami and most recently Francis Carmont. A former Strikeforce Middleweight Champion, Jacare’s last loss came in a 2011 title bout against Luke Rockhold. Having already climbed to No. 4 in the UFC’s Middleweight rankings, another strong performance from Souza in his next fight should bring him significantly closer to challenging for the belt.

Nate Diaz

With a dominant ground game and top-tier boxing in his arsenal, Diaz not only finished all four of his TUF 5 bouts, but has since gone on to earn nine of his last 13 wins by submission. Most recently showcasing his standup with a Knockout of the Night win over Gray Maynard at The Ultimate Fighter 18 finale, Diaz will be looking repeat his bonus-winning performance the next time he steps back into the Octagon.

Miesha Tate

A staple in women’s MMA since turning pro in 2007, Miesha “Cupcake” Tate has established herself as one most recognizable female fighters in the game today. Winner of seven of her last 10 bouts, Tate recently followed up her season as one of the first female coaches in the history of The Ultimate Fighter by going toe-to-toe with her rival Ronda Rousey for the Women’s Bantamweight Belt. Despite the loss, Tate turned in a Fight of the Night performance and grew her fan base in the process.

Dan Henderson

A true MMA legend, Dan “Hendo” Henderson, has squared off against the best-of-best in a pro career that dates all the way back to 1997 and is still going strong today. With 14 wins by KO/TKO it’s safe to say that Hendo has some of the heaviest hands in the UFC while also boasting one of the best chins. A fan-favorite who holds winning records in the UFC, PRIDE and Strikeforce, Henderson most recently got himself back into the win column with a Fight of the Night comeback-performance in his rematch with fellow legend, Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.

Ian McCall

Owner of one of the most unique nicknames in the UFC today, Ian “Uncle Creepy” McCall has been fighting professionally since 2002. Making his Flyweight debut in 2011, McCall has already faced off against the divisions best, taking on Demetrious Johnson on two separate occasions, as well as Joseph Benavidez. After coming out on the wrong end of two consecutive unanimous decisions, McCall bounced back in style with a Fight of the Night win over Iliarde Santos at UFC 163 in Brazil.

Fabricio Werdum

One of the biggest threats currently throwing down in the UFC’s Heavyweight division, Fabricio Werdum is a true MMA veteran and boasts a professional career that dates all the way back to 2002. Riding a three-fight win streak since returning to the UFC in February of 2012, Werdum has most recently showcased his versatile skill-set with a KO win over Mike Russow followed by a submission victory over Minotauro Nogueira. Currently, Werdum ranks among the top five Heavyweights in the UFC.

Gegard Mousasi

With a pro career that spans all the way back to 2003, Gegard Mousasi has already put together an impressive record despite being 28 years of age. A talented finisher, only five of Mousasi’s 34 victories have come by way of decision, earning 19 other wins by knockout and another 10 by submission. After emerging victorious against Ilir Lafiti in his UFC debut in 2013, Mousasi was recently handed one of the few losses of his career by Lyoto Machida. He’ll be looking to bounce back with a win in his next fight and crack the Middleweight Top 10.

Anthony Pettis

The WEC’s final Lightweight champion and the UFC’s current Lightweight title-holder, Anthony
“Showtime” Pettis brings some flash with him every time he steps into the Octagon. The Milwaukee native possesses a deep bag of tricks that’s helped him emerge as the winner of eight of his last nine bouts. After securing himself a place on MMA’s all-time highlight reel by landing the cage-jumping “Showtime Kick”, Pettis went on to prove his ground game could be just as slick, winning his UFC title with a Submission-of-the-Year-worthy armbar.

Johny Hendricks

One of the UFC’s fastest rising stars and easily one of the most feared fighters in the Welterweight Division, Johny “Bigg Rigg” Hendricks packs enough power to end every fight with a single shot. From an elite wresting pedigree, to a devastating left hand, to a solid chin, Hendricks has all the tools needed to either go the distance or down opponents quickly, and has ended eight of his 15 career wins by KO.

Lyoto Machida

Possessing one of the most technical and unorthodox styles in MMA today, Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida has been getting his arm raised in the Octagon since February of 2007. A former UFC Light Heavyweight title-holder, Machida made the move to Middleweight in 2013, instantly becoming one of the division’s top contenders. An elusive stand-up game and an talent for counter-striking has helped The Dragon score his share of highlight reel knockouts including a memorable front-kick KO against the legendary Randy Couture.

Junior Dos Santos

Possessing some of the most polished and powerful boxing the UFC’s Heavyweight division has to offer, it is little surprise that 13 of Junior Dos Santos’ 16 MMA wins have come by way of knockout. The former Heavyweight champ, Cigano has only two losses to his name in 12 UFC appearances, with both being handed to him by current title-holder Cain Velasquez. Chances are it won’t be too long before Dos Santos’ name finds its way back into the title-contention picture.

Carlos Condit

A perennial top contender in the UFC’s Welterweight division, former interim champ Carlos “The Natural Born Killer” Condit is never far from claiming UFC gold. A former WEC title-holder, Condit has proven himself a versatile fighter and fan-favorite, capable of producing fireworks – win or lose – whenever he steps inside the Octagon. Rangy, durable and notoriously tough to finish, The Natural Born Killer represents a challenge for any fighter in the division.

Francis Carmont

Hailing from Paris, France and fighting out of Montreal’s famed Tristar gym, Francis “Limitless” Carmont has been on the rise since entering the UFC in October of 2011. A teammate of former Welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, Carmont has proven that he’s capable of ending fights on his feet or on the ground, earning 10 of his career wins by submission and six by KO. After seeing his 11 fight win-streak recently snapped by Ronaldo Souza, Carmont will be looking to get back to his winning ways and continue climbing the Middleweight ladder.

Benson Henderson

Ever since making his way over from the WEC, Benson “Smooth” Henderson has been a staple at the top of the UFC’s Lightweight division. After initially taking the belt from Frankie Edgar in his fourth Octagon appearance, Henderson defended the strap three times against the likes of Edgar, Nate Diaz and Gilbert Melendez before finally losing it to rival Anthony Pettis in 2013. Already back to his winning ways with a victory over Josh Thomson, look for Bendo to work his way back to another title shot before long.

Robbie Lawler:

With a skill-set divided down the middle between striking and takedowns, it’s little wonder that 18 of “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler’s 22 career wins have come by way of knockout. Back in the UFC after a stint in Strikeforce, Lawler immediately began working his way back up the Welterweight ladder and into the division’s top tier with three consecutive victories, including wins over Josh Koscheck and Rory MacDonald. The three fight win-streak earned him a bout with Johny Hendricks for the vacated Welterweight title.

Gilbert Melendez

Strikeforce’s longtime Lightweight champion, Gilbert Melendez joined the UFC in April of 2013 with a bout against Benson Henderson for the UFC title. Despite snapping a seven fight win-streak with a close split decision loss to Bendo, Melendez remains one of the top fighters to beat in the division. An arsenal of sharp striking skills has earned Melendez 11 career knockouts since turning pro in 2002. Look for Melendez to coach the 20th season of the Ultimate Fighter, opposite Anthony Pettis before the two battle for the belt.

Ronda Rousey

Rousey holds the distinction of being the UFC’s first Women’s Bantamweight champion, and also stands as the first American woman to claim an Olympic medal in Judo. Known for tapping out opponents with her signature armbar, Rousey recently showcased another side of her game, earning a TKO victory over fellow Olympian, Sara McMann, in just 66 seconds.

Rory MacDonald:

Training at Montreal’s famed Tristar Gym alongside Georges St-Pierre has contributed to MacDonald taking his game to the next level.

Demian Maia

A true MMA veteran and consummate Brazilian Jiu Jitsu master, Maia put together an impressive five-fight winning streak upon entering the UFC and most recently a three-fight winning streak since dropping down to Welterweight in July of 2012.

Mark Hunt

After logging highlight reel knockouts of Cheick Kongo and Stefan Struve, Hunt most recently proved again that he’s both one of the most durable and dangerous fighters in the game, dropping jaws around the world with an unforgettable five-round performance against Bigfoot Silva.
